A Little Horse Crazy…

The Parelli tour was fantastic! We met Pat and Linda, Colleen Kelly, the Atwoods of Atwood Ranch, and several other instructors and specialists. The tour itself kept us on the edge of our seats, especially watching Linda’s Olympic-caliber horse, Highland, soar over jumps. Each time he cleared them by two to three feet! We also watched Pat give a demo with his top-notch cow horses at liberty. Definitely an experience of a lifetime!

Since getting back, God’s continued to open doors for me to work on developing excellence in what He’s put on my heart to do with horses. He’s connecting me with some amazing instructors and horsemen that want to help me get where I’m going. I’m learning a lot and am so thankful for the relationships that are forming on this journey.

Right now, I’m working on setting up more horse camp dates, finishing my internship, and achieving Level 4 of the Parelli program with my horses. Can anyone say “horse crazy?”

What’s more important is that God’s taking me somewhere — as He is with all of His children — and that I must keep my eyes on Him. I’ve got to have courage to step out and take the opportunities He gives me and have patience when the work sometimes seems slow and difficult. And I’ve got to remember His focus is on relationships.

While I might be excited about all these new open doors, He still wants me to serve my family and grow the friendships He’s given me.

And true friendship is what life is all about anyway. (See John 15.)
