I’ve gotta open up my heart and be honest… flat out amazement and wonder grips me at what I never saw coming.
Moving here, to Crystal Peaks.
Finally, after 3 months of transitioning, I feel my heart-rate slow enough to breathe deep and my wobbly feet of faith step out slowly to say: God has done great things for me.
My childhood dream and prayer to serve in this place received a thumbs-up from my Heavenly Father and He has led me here for a season and for His glory. And I know many of you have been waiting patiently for an update!
The Ranch family welcomed me warmly with open hearts and arms, as did my awesome roommate — who had a special note waiting for me when I arrived. I have absolutely experienced God answering so many of the prayers of my friends and family have constantly brought before the throne of grace. In fact, I feel as if God flew open His floodgates to pour a roaring grace waterfall right on my head!
Each day at the Ranch unfolds uniquely — lots of laughs, wonder at the beauty of God’s restoration, the sweat of hard work and play with the kids and volunteers who come, and tears for the hurting who walk up the hill, highlighted with special events and staff retreats into God’s creation. Jesus wraps all these things up and breathes them into life with a boatload of LOVE.
Atop the rough cinder ridge at the back of the Ranch, my favorite place sit and view the whole property below me, the Cascade mountain range stands crystal clear just beyond the valley. It almost feels as if one could reach out and touch the mountains. That’s when I sense Jesus calling me to rest quietly in His presence.
While there have been moments I think I might melt from glory overload, the pain of missing my family and friends is real and feels like learning to live with an amputated limb. God has so graciously loved on me and supported me by bringing HIS family here alongside to shoulder with me as I find my balance in walking by faith. Jesus is teaching me to trust HIM to supply all of my needs — even, and especially in the little things that I may not think matter as much. He knows what is dear to my heart!
I am excited to see what God has in store for the coming days and months. Session Season opens tomorrow and we definitely welcome prayers for children who come!
